Leading With Common Sense

DONATE

I'm Jenny Kamprath and I'm running to be your Commissioner in Washington County in District 1.

Why I'm Running:

Just like you, I am a resident and taxpayer in District 1, I'm running to effect change in the current government status quo, to stand up for the people in District 1 who have had enough of the wasteful Washington County machine that cares more about power than the people they were elected to serve. We need a new courageous leader who will stop the overspending. And someone who puts citizens before special donor interests. I will make decisions based on common sense, not ideology to represent Washington County transparently.

Predicting a politician's future actions often hinges on their past behavior. Nafisa Fai has been a mere rubber stamp for Chair Harrington, neglecting the interests of District 1 and leaving them unrepresented. Despite strong opposition from the community, she supported the placement of homeless pods in the middle of their residential Reedville neighborhood, disregarding constituent concerns. At the recent Beaverton Forum Fai stated she has an "open door policy" Even as issues, such as housing violent offenders, arose within these pods, Fai has ignored and refused to engage with affected neighbors or attend community meetings.

Fai boasts of creating 1200 "affordable housing units," yet specifics regarding their location and affordability remain elusive. Likewise, her claims of improving road safety and reducing traffic congestion lack substantial evidence.

Her endorsements, including those from politicians embroiled in corruption allegations and workplace misconduct, Governor Kate Brown investigated for corruption, Governor Tina Kotek being investigated for corruption, Chair Harrington sued for bullying and creating a toxic workplace raise questions about her own affiliations and priorities. Keep in mind all the endorsements she lists are owed "favors" for providing the endorsement.

Contrastingly, my campaign is fueled by grassroots support from Washington County residents seeking a leader grounded in common sense rather than political agendas or donor/endorsement interests. Fai's acceptance of significant donations from unions and political PACs raises concerns about potential conflicts of interest.

Fai and those who endorse her adhere to the same progressive ideological framework as Portland. The ramifications are evident. Continuing to grow government, more control over citizens' lives and more overspending. This brings on higher taxes new and higher fees and cuts in services to taxpayers.

If YOU WANT CHANGE, I stand for smaller government, lower taxes, and less government control. If you don't want Washington County to turn into Portland please vote for:

A leader centered on common sense and transparency, I urge you to vote for Jenny Kamprath on May 21st.
